On Azzurra you play right inside the channel: nothing to install and no account needed, just commands typed in the channel or sent privately to the bot. The games are in Italian. On #italia your host is MikeBongiorno; for a quick list of the Trivial and Sillabah commands in channel, type !giochi (or !help).
Each channel runs one game at a time: while a game is in progress, GameBot’s included, the other games won’t start until it’s over.
Cards Against Humanity
The party game “for horrible people”, in Italian. Each hand one player is the czar: the bot shows a black card with a sentence to complete, everyone else picks the best (or most absurd) white card from their hand, and the czar chooses the winner. The winner of the hand scores a point; the czar rotates every hand.
How to play
- Someone opens the table with
!cah. Whoever opens it is already seated. - Everyone else has 60 seconds to sit down by typing
join the channel. At least 3 players are needed, otherwise the table closes. - Each player gets 7 white cards in private, numbered.
- The bot shows the black card. Everyone except the czar plays with
pl N, where N is the card number. If the black card has more than one blank, play more cards:pl 3 5. You can play in the channel or, to keep it secret, privately: in a query (/msg MikeBongiorno pl 3) or as a notice (/notice MikeBongiorno pl 3). The bot never replies to plays sent as a notice, not even when the number is wrong. - When time runs out (or everyone has played) the answers are shown in random order and without nicks. The czar picks one with
!vince N. - The first player to reach the target score wins the game: 5 points unless you choose otherwise.
Timers: 90 seconds to play, 90 seconds for the czar to choose. If the czar doesn’t choose, nobody scores that hand. A player who misses two hands in a row is removed from the table; two hands in a row with no cards played end the game.
Commands
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
!cah | Opens the table (game to 5 points) |
!cah start N | Opens the table with a game to N points (max 15) |
jo | Sit down at the table. If a game is running you play from the next hand |
!cah esci | Leave the table |
pl N | Play card N (pl N M if the black card asks for two); also in a query or notice to the bot |
!vince N | The czar picks the winning answer |
!cah carte | Sends your hand again in private |
!cah stato | Where the hand is at, who still has to play |
!cah punti | Scores of the current game; with no game running, the all-time ranking |
!cah top | All-time ranking (hands won) |
!cah stop | Closes the table |
!cah help | Command summary |
The older commands still work: !cah entra to sit down, !play N to play, and the English aliases !cah join, !cah quit, !cah points, !cah cards, !cah status, !winner N. You can sit at one table at a time.
Who opens and closes the table
On #italia the table can only be opened and closed by channel operators and Azzurra staff. Everyone else can sit down, play and check scores and status whenever a game is open.
Protected hours
Some cards are for an adult audience only. On #italia:
- from 9:00 to 22:00, protected hours: adult-only cards are left out;
- from 22:00 to 9:00: full deck.
Times are Italian time. The bot announces the current band when the table opens and warns when it changes during a game; the change applies from the next hand.

Trivial
A hangman-style quiz: the bot asks a question and shows the answer masked, one dash per letter (the spaces between words stay visible). The first to type the right answer wins the question.
How to play
- Open a game by choosing a question set:
!trivial <set>, for example!trivial babbani. A game lasts 10 questions; to change that, add a number:!trivial babbani 25. !trivialon its own lists the available sets:tutte(all),nerd(computing, networking, security, IRC…),babbani(everything else) and the single categories, such ascultura,scienza,storia,natura,cucina,moda,religioni.- While a question is open you can type in the channel:
- a single letter: if it’s in the answer, every occurrence is revealed; if it isn’t, the bot stays silent;
- one word of the answer: it gets revealed;
- the whole answer: one point, and on to the next question.
- Once half of the answer is revealed, letters and hints stop working: from then on only the full answer counts.
- A game closes on its own after 10 minutes with nobody playing.
Commands
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
!trivial <set> [n] | Opens a game on the chosen set, n questions long (aliases !trivia, !allegria) |
!trivial | Lists the sets; during a game, repeats the question |
.h | Reveals one random letter |
.v | Reveals all the vowels |

!stop | Ends the game |
!classifica trivial | Ranking |
Sillabah
The syllable game. Each round the bot announces a syllable and a letter limit, for example “RI, max 7 letters”: you need an Italian word that contains the syllable and doesn’t exceed the limit. Every letter is worth points and the word is worth the sum, so words with rare letters pay off.
How to play
- Open a game with
!sillabah(10 rounds) or!sillabah N(N rounds, max 30). - Words are not typed in the channel: send them in private to the bot,
/msg MikeBongiorno word, or with/notice MikeBongiorno word. The bot replies privately telling you whether the word was accepted or why it was rejected. - One word per player per round: sending another replaces the previous one.
-deletewithdraws yours. - Each round lasts 60 seconds. At the end the channel sees the best words and the points go to the ranking.
- Accented letters count as their plain counterparts. Valid words are those in the game’s dictionary: foreign words only pass if they’re in common Italian use.
- A game closes on its own after two rounds with no words. Only one game runs at a time across the network, because words arrive in private and the bot must know which game they belong to.
